And a Merry Christmas to All

By now everyone should be nestled all snug in your beds while visions of sugar-plums dance in your heads. We have come to that point in the waning year when we take the time to wish all our gracious friends/subscribers/readers a very merry Christmas.

Christmas 2025

It is a joyous time of the year and we wish to extend our gratitude and heartfelt thanks for giving us the most precious of resources – your time. We here in the Intrigued family hope your hearts are encouraged, your stockings are full and your holidays gathered with those special people in your lives.

Hit the jump for some more Christmas cheer

Christmas 2025

With these days of sparkle and cheer comes a flood of memories from days gone by. It is one of the few times every year when the entire family is able to get together and restrengthen the bonds that kept us so close over the years. We truly miss our parents and keep them in our hearts as we do our best to carry on the tradition with our siblings and their families.

That tradition is carried on with our Intrigued family as well. Our company gatherings are legendary as everyone is usually in from the field by now and ready to finally relax and enjoy the hard earned time off until the New Year comes. The staff you mostly interact with wanted to personally send their Christmas cheer!

Here is Jan (editor/photographer), Brad (editor/photographer) and me (Lord Overseer ha).

Christmas 2025

Note, we finally forced Jan to officially take on the photographer role as you may have noticed, many of her shots find their way into Brad’s posts.

I almost didn’t include this next shot of Brad and Jan in the field as it gives away a bit of a secret to a major theme for upcoming 2026 posts. Just don’t let your eyes wander to the background ha.

Christmas 2025

And of course, our Western HQ staff wanted to send you their Christmas wishes as well. Our associate editor Elfie has had to do double duty as of late helping Allyson, our Denver HQ editor, recover from her ankle injury. Trust me, I know exactly what Allyson is having to go through and wish her all the best for a full and speedy recovery! I am expecting new required safety courses from our HR department next year hehehe.

Christmas 2025

I should also make sure anyone who goes out in the field with me is up to date on their Red Cross training.

Christmas 2025

I am hoping to get at least one more post out before the end of the year to highlight our accomplishments and put a bow on the year. We will see how that goes as we need to start packing to head south and there are still a few things to tie up around the office before I turn the keys over to Brad (waiting on some final performance reviews from our Legal Department and still tracking down the individual responsible for the recent copier “incident”).

Christmas 2025

The good news is I did meet with the marketing and accounting teams last week and we were able to get all 6 of our domain names, the external domain hosting service the two WordPress hosting accounts and the all-important SmugMug gallery renewed for the next three years so we are good to go for the foreseeable future.

Christmas 2025

Take care everyone, have a very merry Christmas and safe travels for everyone out and about this holiday season. Thank you again for all your wonderful support this year. Lastly, to our Intrigued staff, thank you for all you do to make this thing happen.

Brian, Linda, Brad, Jan, Allyson, Raven, Ruger, Elfie and the rest of the staff working tirelessly behind the scenes.

    1. Unfortunately, the trees require manual labor to trim – for the monster 12 footer, more like 3 days to get that fully decorated. From there we move onto the specially smaller trees which don’t take as long, but by the time we get to those the decorating energy is starting to wither. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas Jerry.

  1. Nice to see your smiling staff. That is one big tree. The decorating job is impressive. No! I’m not wondering about the land down under. Not at all. Not me! That’s good Elfie can take up the slack for Alison. There is something intriguing about ankle injuries at Intrigued. Merry Christmas, everyone!

    1. Every once in a while we like to come out from behind the typewriter. That tree is a beast. I’m not the weakest individual, but I do have to leave the box in the attic and simply bring out one section at a time as I can only lift one end of the box by myself (and Linda is off her Olympic weightlifting regiment so no help there). You weren’t suppose to look in the background of that shot!!! Elfie is now asking for double pay as she has to do the work of two now. There is definitely something up with the Intrigued ankles…our medical department is starting to ask questions… Hoping all is going well for you and the family now early into the New Year.

    1. Thank you John, every once in awhile we let our guard down and someone tricks us into getting in front of our keyboards. Best wishes for joyous and HEALTHY new year to you John!

    1. Thank you Sam! Our two supplemental trees are our “specialty” trees. Linda’s is trimmed with the Precious Moments she has collected over the years and mine is a mixture of the glass ornaments my Aunt purchased for me every year since my first Christmas – most incredibly stressful part of the holiday season is putting those on the tree without breaking them (topped only by the removal process). The rest of my tree is, as you perfectly noticed, all my special BIRD ornaments! Hope all is going great for you and yours. Have to say the birding is a bit slim out here in west Texas, but the scenery is INCREDIBLE. Take care and, as always, thanks for coming by.
